'What do you use?' - Maddison Cave
‘What do you use?’ - the most common question I hear from clients who frequent my chair… and I understand it. Like most things in our lives there is an over abundance of information floating in cyber space on ‘the best’, ‘the most effective’, ‘the healthiest’ hair care products. You just want a simple answer, so I have done my best to get that for you. Through this series, I ask my colleagues, friends and hair idols… “What do you use?”.
Now we are not physicians or biochemists, but we all spend a lot of time with hair. You can decide the credibility…

Maddison’s Haircare Routine - in her own words…
My hair is wavy and fine, but I have a lot of it! I lighten and warm up my natural with a base break about every 8 weeks and I’ll get balayage highlights once a year to brighten up.
I usually wash my hair every 3 days or so but I’ve been in Florida, it’s hot and humid, so I’m shampooing after I work out about every other day. I use Bumble and Bumble Invisible Hairdresser’s Oil Shampoo and a Kristin Ess Reconstructive Moisture Mask on my ends. I brush it through in the shower vs combing when I get out so I don’t disturb my waves and can let my hair air dry. I apply Air Dry Styler by Odele which you can get at Target ( my quarantine go to for everything!)
My scalp doesn’t get too oily, so on days I don’t shampoo I just brush out my ends and add a little Jojoba Oil and/or Olaplex Bonding Oil so my curls look shiny. I leave it down or wear it in a loose braid, I’m in the process of growing out bangs so sometimes I will lightly blow dry those or clip them so they are out of my face. I can’t live without jojoba oil! You can get it from Trader Joe’s pretty reasonably or other brands use it in oil blends like “Everyday Oil”. I apply not only on the ends of my hair but also my skin to soften and moisturize!
